Lewis Road (State Route 4022) Reconstruction, Limerick Township, Montgomery County PA

DESCRIPTION

In this PennDOT managed project, Czop/ Specter provided preliminary and final design services for the reconstruction and realignment of approximately 3,350’of Lewis Road. The goal was to alleviate a dangerous S-curve. 

Our preliminary and final design services encompassed: two culverts; roadway realignment, ROW acquisition; construction plans; pavement design; traffic control; pavement marking and signage; HOP permits; storm water; and erosion & sedimentation control. The design includes shoulders capable of accommodating future multi-directional bike lanes.

Our construction items included road-way, curb, sidewalk, storm drainage, concrete culvert, detours, signalization, landscaping, and utilities.
 


PROJECT / LOCATION

Bridge Replacement over Schuylkill River on Route 29, Phoenixville & Upper Providence Township, Montgomery County PA

CLIENT

PennDOT District 6-0  COST  $1.5 Million

DESCRIPTION

Replacement of a closed-spandrel arch bridge with a five-span, 592’ continuous steel superstructure with four lines of plate girders to replace the old arches. Czop/Specter provided project management and coordination.

Design services included approach realignment, utility relocation, right-of-ways, demolition plans, erosion & sediment control, traffic, MPT and pedestrian transportation coordination, detours, and site survey. Project duration was minimized by reusing existing bridge foundations and using steel girders.

This was first the bridge in Pennsylvania with “shock transmission units,” an earthquake damage mitigation technology.

Arcola Road Reconstruction, Upper Providence Township, Montgomery County PA

DESCRIPTION

This project was for widening and full depth reconstruction of a 2,900’ section of road with bike lanes and trail crossings incorporated. This involved vertical and horizontal realignment, complete reconstruction, and addition of retaining walls in two areas. Our services included design, construction management, and inspection. 

Czop/Specter prepared plans for Right-of-way acquisition, highway construction, pavement design, bike lanes, traffic control, pavement marking and signing, occupancy permits, utility clearance, stormwater management, surface water and spring mitigation and E&S control. We coordinated with PennDOT, PADEP, Montgomery County Conservation District, the Township, Montgomery County Planning Commission, and utility companies.
